Mabon Power Limited and Nigeria Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET) have initiated a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to add 40mw to the electricity grid from its Dadin Kowa plant in Gombe State.

NBET’s Managing Director, Marilyn Amobi, at the pact signing last weekend in Abuja, assured the private firm of government’s support while urging other investors to emulate Mabon in developing power sector infrastructure.

With the initialization, the company will accelerate the completion of the project that will eventually add about 40mw to the national grid, she said in a statement through the Deputy Director of Press at the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing, Etore Thomas.

In his remarks, Mabon’s Project Development Consultant, Mr. Christopher Cyril, commended NBET and assured the government that the project would be completed on schedule.

He further disclosed that the project had reached 80 percent completion, adding that the PPA initialization would enable the company to seek for more financial viability to complete it.
